I know I sometimes have trouble telling certain actors apart, but for some celebs, there are more than a few people who can’t tell one from the other.

Here are 34 celebs who look so much alike, they’ve been mistaken for one another:

In 2020, Zooey starred in Katy’s music video for “Not the End of the World.” In the video, she got abducted by aliens who mistook her for Katy.

In a joint Instagram Live, Katy told Zooey, “When I came to LA, I was pretty much a nobody, and you were just like just getting so huge at that time. It was like Zooey Deschanel ran the world. In that moment, I was so complimented to look like you. But I have to admit something to you. When I first got to LA, I went to the club. A lot. And I wanted to get into the club, but I had no money, I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club.”

Zooey replied, “People were like, ‘I saw you!’ But I’m such a goody-two-shoes, and people kept going like, ‘I saw you out! Like, I made eye contact with you!’ Then everybody kept telling me about this girl Katy, ‘She looks just like you,’ and I’m like, ‘Who is this Katy?’ And then when I first met you, I was so relieved because you’re so pretty, and I was like, ‘Oh, thank God. She’s so pretty.'”

In 1994, Helen told the Late Show with David Letterman, “My life has changed a little bit. I’m recognized now for being who I am, rather than, ‘I went to college with you’ or ‘Did you used to date my cousin?’ or ‘Are you Jodie Foster?’ — which I got for a long time…[At the supermarket] the guy is checking me out and says, ‘You’re Jodie Foster.’ And I said, ‘I’m actually not, thank you.’ ‘No, you are. I know you’re Jodie Foster.’ ‘I’m begging you, I’m not, I’m really not.'”

And in a since-deleted 2016 tweet, Helen said, “Ordered my drink @Starbucks. Asked the barista if she wanted my name. She winked and said, ‘We gotcha.’ #JodieFoster.” She attached a picture of her cup with the name “Jody” written on it.

In 2024, Stanley told Magic Radio, “I get complimented on Mark Strong’s performances all the time.”

4. Ralph Fiennes and and Liam Neeson

Ralph told Magic Radio, “I get complimented on Liam Neeson’s [performances]. Yes, yes, I’ve been complimented on my performance in Taken, and he’s been complimented on his performance in The English Patient.”

Previously, in 2020, Ralph told The Graham Norton Show, “I get mistaken for Liam Neeson. I’ve been complimented on my performance in Taken 2.

5. Margot Robbie and Emma Mackey

In 2020, Emma told the Independent, “I genuinely just don’t see it at all. But it’s fine. I wish people would stop comparing. Like, it’s lovely to be compared to Margot Robbie, but mostly, I’d rather people focus on the jobs that we’re both doing rather than what we look like. Hollywood churns out people who look the same, and we love to put people in boxes. It’s just a thing that we do as a species; we categorize people, we always have.”

But in 2023, Margot told BuzzFeed Celeb, “I’ve been told for years that I look like the girl from Sex Education, who is Emma Mackey. And she plays one of the Barbies in the movie [Barbie] pretty much because Greta and I thought it would be funny. We were gonna do, like, this whole joke about us looking similar…And then once we got, like, all dressed up as our Barbies, we were kind of like, ‘We don’t actually look that similar.’ Like when she’s got her brown hair, and I’ve got my blonde hair, we don’t look that similar. So we didn’t put that joke in the movie, but when people come up and say, ‘I love you in Sex Education!’ I just say, ‘Thank you. Thank you so much.'”

6. Margot Robbie and Jaime Pressly

Jaime told ET Live, “We look a lot alike…When we’re both smiling, we both have similar, like, our teeth are very similar as well. But, the eyes are very — we do look a lot alike. I have to tell you, when she and Allison [Janney] did the movie, I, Tonya, that Allison won the Oscar for, I was at the premiere, and I had not met her yet. And so I was kind of, you know, everybody was talking about the whole doppelganger thing, so I was excited to meet her. And she came over. She’s like, ‘Oh my God, I’m so excited to meet you!’ And she’s like, ‘I’ve been a huge fan of yours since I was, like, 14,’ and I immediately was like, ‘I’m so old’ because I had literally also just had the twins.”

She continued, “It was the first time I’d been out, and she was so sweet. But all I could think of was, ‘I’ve been around that long,’ because, you know, I’m almost 14, probably 15 years older than her, if not more. And I was like, ‘It’s a pleasure to be the doppelganger, because, quite frankly, if I look like you, that’s fine with me.'”

7. Conan O’Brien and David Caruso

On an episode of Conan, Conan said, “People usually know who I am ’cause I’m an unusual looking fellow…I stick out a little bit. But I had one person come up to me once, like a couple years ago, and say, ‘Hi, can I get your autograph?’ And I was like, ‘Yeah, sure’ and made a scribble for them. And then they walked away, and they thought that I was the red-haired guy from [CSI]…I thought, ‘How am I like David Caruso?’ I wasn’t wearing sunglasses and taking them off dramatically.”

Anna told Conan, “Years ago, when I first started getting recognized for Scary Movie, I was at a mall, and you know, forgive me. I was just short of experiencing fame. So, it went to my head a little bit…A guy came up to me. He said, ‘Are you who I think you are?’ And I said, ‘I don’t know. Who do you think I am?’ And he said, ‘No, no, you’re not.’ I was like, ‘Well, I don’t know. Who do you think I am?’ And he said, ‘Britney?’ She’s smokin’, but I just said, ‘I’m the girl from Scary Movie.’ He’s like, ‘Oh.'”

In a 2023 Instagram post, Jessica said, “The face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears 😜”

A year prior, Britney shared what appeared to be an old paparazzi pictures (which you can see here) on Instagram. She captioned it, “Why do I look EXACTLY like Jessica Simpson ??? Also my face looks so pale 🤧🤧🤧🤔🤔🤔 !!!”

10. Demi Moore and Courteney Cox

In 2024, Demi told Magic Radio, “After we were shooting [The Substance], and I was out for a walk on a day off, and somebody said, ‘Oh my God, are you that girl from Friends?’ I get that a lot. I get Courteney Cox, like, often, even though she has blue eyes. I do not.”

11. Demi Moore and Jennifer Connelly

Demi told Magic Radio, “Sometimes, somebody has said Jennifer Connelly…If somebody says, ‘You know, you look like,’ and even if they say me, I say, ‘Oh wow, thank you.'”

12. Margaret Qualley and Emma Roberts

Margaret told Magic Radio that people say she looks like Emma Roberts “if they’re being nice to [her].” She said, “Like, they don’t really think I’m her, but they, like, think I could be her.”

13. McKenna Grace and Kiernan Shipka

In 2018, the two met at an awards show. In a since-deleted tweet, McKenna shared a picture, writing, “Finally💕 @kiernanshipka No, we are not the same person…here is proof.”

Afterward, Kiernan hand-selected McKenna to play her younger self on The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Series creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa told The Wrap, “When Kiernan heard we were doing Lil Sabrina, she texted me a picture of her with McKenna and said, ‘You have to get McKenna. She’s like me as a little girl, and we’re dead ringers. And then we reached out [to McKenna] and said, ‘Do you want to be Lil Sabrina for the Christmas special?’ And she said yeah. And it was as easy as that! It came from Kiernan though.”

14. Tom Hanks and Michael Keaton (especially when they were younger)

In 2024, Tom told the Happy Sad Confused podcast, “Keaton all the time… Michael and I are, you know, some form of odd doppelganger from a long time [ago]. They don’t say, ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ to me exactly. But a lot of time, ‘Hey, are you that? Hey, were you that?’ You know, I get that.”

In 2019, Tom’s son, Colin Hanks, jokingly posted an old picture of Michael on Instagram for his dad’s birthday. He captioned it, “Wanna wish a Happy 63rd Birthday to my dad!!! He’s a good man with a great sense of humor. Love ya Pops!”

15. Sarah Hyland and Mila Kunis

In 2021, Sarah told The Kelly Clarkson Show, “I do [get mistaken for Mila Kunis]. It still happens. I mean, I met her maybe ten years ago. I was very excited to meet her. I was such a massive fan, and everyone always told me that I looked like her. But the first time I met her, she was like, ‘I get confused as you all the time, and I love it. I take it as a compliment because you’re younger than I am. So sometimes I go along with it.’ And I was like, ‘Well, the next time that I get mistaken for you, can I pretend to be you?'”

“And she gave me permission, but then a month later, it was the Golden Globes when she was nominated for Black Swan…I wanted to so badly, but I was like…The jokester in me, the, like, Sagittarius, just, like, prankster was like, ‘Yes, I am Mila, and Natalie [Portman] and I had a secret relationship when we were filming’ and just start a bunch of rumors. And then, I was like, ‘Nope, Sarah, hold your tongue for one time in your life. Hold your tongue.’ And I just said, ‘No thanks” and walked away,” she said.

16. Nina Dobrev and Victoria Justice

In 2013, Victoria told HuffPost, “It’s been happening forever! I think it’s flattering. She’s so pretty, so it’s very nice to be able to say that! I get the Nina thing a lot.”

In a 2022 TikTok video, Nina tried a celebrity lookalike filter that brought up pictures of her as Elena Gilbert on The Vampire Diaries. She joked, “Apparently we look alike? Who are these girls?” In the comments, she responded to a fan who joked the girl in the pictures was Victoria.

17. Daniel Radcliffe and Elijah Wood

In 2022, Daniel told The Drew Barrymore Show that he doesn’t correct people who mistake him for Elijah. He said, “That happened a couple of times. You just don’t want to ruin someone’s day…The first time it happened, I was on a red carpet in Japan, and the guy who was offering me the photo of Elijah Wood was Japanese and did not speak English, and I didn’t speak Japanese. I think I either signed Elijah Wood, or I maybe wrote, like, ‘I am not Elijah Wood, Daniel Radcliffe.’ But then, a guy was driving past on the street..This guy just, like, shouted out, like, ‘Hey Frodo, I love the Lord of the Rings movies!’ or something like that. And at that moment, you go like, ‘He’s going to have a really nice day if he thinks he met Frodo,’ so it’s just like, ‘Thanks man! Have a good one!'”

18. Jessica Chastain and Bryce Dallas Howard

In 2019, Jessica told AP, “I remember one time being on the subway, and I was looking at a magazine and there was a picture of her in it, like a small picture, and I was like ‘What am I doing in this magazine?’ I actually had that thought.” She also recalled a time Ron Howard, Bryce’s dad, allegedly confused the two. She said, “I was walking by, and I was like, ‘Oh, that’s Ron Howard.’ And then my friend who was with me said he turned to someone and goes, ‘I think I just saw Bryce.'”

In 2021, Bryce addressed their similarities, telling Conan that she gets mistaken for Jessica “all the time.” She said, “Only when I’m looking presentable and when I have makeup on. When I look like myself, nobody thinks I look like Jessica Chastain.”

In a 2022 TikTok video, Jessica lipsyched to a sound about being “fucking sick of it” under text that said, “When you spend 20 yrs building a career and they still think you work at Jurassic Park.” For context, Bryce stars in the Jurassic World reboot.

19. Jessica Chastain and Christina Hendricks

In 2019, Christina told AP that a department store worker confused her for Jessica. She said, “I get [mistaken for] everyone, anyone who has red hair.”

20. Elizabeth Banks and Chelsea Handler

In 2010, Elizabeth tweeted, “Saw Chris Rock last night. He said, ‘Hey, Chelsea Handler!’ We’ve met before. I’m 98.65% positive he was not kidding. I didn’t correct him.”

And when Elizabeth appeared on Chelsea Lately in 2011, Chelsea jokingly introduced her by saying, “My twin sister is here, everybody.” Elizabeth said that she met a man who said his girlfriend loved her. She said, “I’m thinking, ‘Yeah, sweet.’ And he’s like, ‘I just love your books, My Horizontal Life,’ and I was like, ‘Oh, he thinks he’s meeting Chelsea Handler.’ And I couldn’t ruin it for him, you know. I was like, ‘Yeah it’s nice to meet you.'” Pretending to be Chelsea, she claimed she was in town on a book tour.

Chelsea said, “This is the best part, when we were at the White House Correspondents Dinner, and we both went. And Bill O’Reilly was talking to me, and I said, ‘I think you are confusing me with Elizabeth Banks,’ because I wanted to get the fuck away from him.”

21. Lucy Hale and Selena Gomez (particularly when they were younger)

In 2018, Lucy told Insider, “When I was younger, it was a lot of Selena Gomez, during her Wizards of Waverly Place days. Usually, I would correct them, but I remember there was this one time, it was this older lady in an airport, and she was like, ‘Can I get a picture with you?’ I thought that she thought I was Lucy. Afterward, she started listing off the projects that she liked of mine, and I quickly realized that she thought I was Selena. And I kind of just went with it because I didn’t want to crush her dreams.”

22. Keira Knightley and Natalie Portman

In 2024, Natalie told Vanity Fair that she gets mistaken for Keira “all the time.” She added, “Very flattering.”

Keira told The Late Late Show with James Corden, “Quite a few people have come over to me to ask me to say hello to Daniel Craig for them because they think I’m Rachel Weisz, which is lovely.”

24. Keira Knightley and Britney Spears

On The Late Late Show with James Corden, Keira said, “The other ones, I get it. I’m, like, English, actress. But Britney Spears, I know. In LA, and I was in a shop. I don’t know. It was a weird one. So I did. I had my picture as Britney Spears as well.”

In 2024, Kate told Access Hollywood that she gets mistaken for Cate “a lot” — and sometimes she goes along with it! That’s so kind.’ And she gets the same thing, where people will say to her, ‘Loved you in Sense and Sensibility,’ or ‘Loved you in Titanic.’ So, yeah, it happens. To be mistaken for Cate Blanchett is a huge compliment. So, no, I’ll take it. I’ll take it.”

We ran into each other that night, and it was really funny. It was like the Spider-Man scene, you know what I mean?”

In 2020, Henry told Heatworld, “Sometimes, actually hasn’t really happened in a while, but a lot of people hand me this one particular photo of Matt Bomer, which people want me to keep on signing. I think it’s him lying in the water, and he’s sort of, he’s half-submerged. He’s lying on his side. And people keep on handing that to me. I’m like, ‘I would love to sign this for you, but that’s not me. And I’ll sign it, because, anyway, but just so you know, that’s Matt.’ There is some facial structure similarities for sure.”

In 2023, Jared reacted to a TikTok theory that he and Scott were twins, telling SiriusXM’s TikTok Radio, “Oh, that would be nice because then I would have a rich relative. because he’s very wealthy, right? Yeah, that would be nice…Lucky me. It’s hard when you look at yourself. But they do say that people who look alike actually share a lot of DNA, sometimes. You know, if there’s someone like, ‘Oh, my God, you look exactly like this guy,’ you actually might be related somehow.”

In 2025, Ray told People, “Mostly people are like, ‘You look like [Leonardo DiCaprio.]. Or, ‘You look like Sebastian Stan. I thought you were Sebastian Stan!’ Which is weird because my dad [Jack Nicholson] and I do look so much alike. But, yeah, I either get Leo or Sebastian.”

In 2024, Ian told The Graham Norton Show, “You remember the late, lamented Michael Gambon, who played the other wizard, you know, Dumbledore. And I played Gandalf, and we were often mistaken for each other…One day, I was going to see him in his show, and after, I said, ‘Do you ever get mistaken for me?’ He said, ‘Oh, the whole time.’ And I said, ‘Well, what do you do?’ And he said, ‘They bring me their wretched 10×8 of you as Gandalf…I just sign your name.’ …Last week, I was waiting for [a train], and a voice behind me said, ‘Excuse me.’ I turned around. There were two women in their twenties, and one of them said, ‘Are you Michael Gambon?’ And I said, ‘Michael Gambon is dead.'”

He continued, “She said, ‘Yes, I know, but are you Michael Gambon?’ I said, ‘Michael Gambon is dead!’ And with that as an exit line, I swanned on…but she followed. And she was laughing and giggling with her pal, and I think what she was doing was texting her friend, saying, ‘I’ve just seen ghost!'”

34. And finally, Michael Sheen and Andy Serkis

Michael told The Graham Norton Show, “A lot of people think I am Andy Serkis from Lord Of The Rings. I was once followed out of a restaurant in LA by someone screaming, ‘Gollum! Gollum! Gollum!’ I am not recognized as Andy, but just the hideous character he plays. It’s terrible.”

In 2022, Andy told the Guardian, “A funny thing did once happen…I got off a plane coming back from LA, and the child of Kate Beckinsale [who was once married to Sheen] ran up to me, thinking I was her dad. I’d love to do something with Michael. There’s a Man United manager too – Ole Gunnar Solskjær – who people have said I look like.”
