Kelly Clarkson confesses kids ‘constantly’ disapprove of her dating
Kelly Clarkson just confessed that her children don’t approve of her dating again.
The 42-year-old singer recently spoke to KOST 103.5 about how she’s “enjoying being single” at the moment, but revealed her kids, son Remy, 8 and daughter, River, 10, aren’t excited over the idea of their mother looking for love.
“They constantly bring it up, ‘Please, we don’t want you with anybody else,'” Clarkson shared of her kid, whom she shared with ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
The Just Sing crooner continued, “They’re young, it’s hard to picture their mom with someone else other than their dad.”
And even though Clarkson is happy being single for the time being, the TV show host has made it clear that she won’t be catering this particular wish of her children.
“I have expressed like, ‘Hey, I love you guys but Mommy needs lovings too,'” Clarkson shared.
For the unversed, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in 2020 and has also remained publicly vocal about how upset it made Remy and River.
In 2023, on Angie Martinez’s IRL podcast, the singer revealed how she checks up on both of her kids, saying:
“I ask my kids every night when we’re snuggling and I put them to bed, ‘Are you happy? And if you’re not, what could make you happier?’ Especially the past two years… it kills me [but] I want them to be honest so I don’t ever say, ‘Oh God, don’t tell me that,’ but a lot of times it would be like, ‘I’m just really sad. I wish Mommy and Daddy were in the same house.’ They’re really honest about it. I’m raising that kind of individual.”
