However, it may just be outside of the beauty domain of Botox and fillers this time as she underwent laser surgery because she’s “very short-sighted” and “didn’t want to wear glasses.”

The 49-year-old Maleficent star admitted that the reason for having the eye operation was because she was worried that wearing spectacles might impact her acting career in Hollywood. Particularly, she might have had trouble in seeing when she was on stage, as well as reading her lines from a script.

In a conversation with Vogue Mexico, Jolie mentioned, “One thing that very few people know about me is that I’m short-sighted, so when I was young, I wore glasses and then I had laser surgery.”

The actress, who is currently enjoying sensational fame from her 2024 film, Maria, continued, “It wasn’t out of vanity, I just didn’t want to wear glasses… On stage I would probably have trouble seeing the person across the stage or reading things.”

“I think it puts you in a place where you’re a little bit more isolated. You’re not sure of the expression of the person across the room, you’re not sure of the world around you in the same way that someone who can see perfectly can,” Angeline Jolie further told the outlet, detailing what eyesight trouble feels like.
