Arielle Kebbel spills details about ‘John Tucker Must Die’ sequel
Arielle Kebbel says the original John Tucker Must Die cast is eager for a sequel.
“There’s a lot of talk about the sequel,” she told People. “We’re continuing to do our best to push forward on that.”
The Gilmore Girls star continued: “I don’t quite know what to say without saying much, but, it’s a special, special project. And I can say that everyone’s very supportive of a sequel.”
Reports of a sequel emerged when the original cast members Jesse Metcalfe, Sophia Bush and Kebbel reunited at Epic Cons Chicago in March.
“I’ve heard rumors of this script — there’s a script,” Metcalfe – who played the bad boy John Tucker in the movie – said. “Apparently it’s amazing.”
At the Con, Kebbel revealed that the sequel “does involve all of the OG cast.” She teased that Metcalfe’s character “may or may not get a chance to change” his ways, “which would be very exciting.”
In the film, John Tucker dates three girls simultaneously and when they find out, they enlist a fellow student (Brittany Snow) to get revenge from him.
However, Snow revealed in July on John Tucker Must Die co-star Penn Badgley’s podcast Podcrushed that she hasn’t been contacted about the sequel yet.
“Penn, I don’t know if you’ve had a call, but I’ve gotten no call,” she said.
“Yeah, I’ve had no call, no. I mean, it’s maybe possible like the superposition quantum physics, like everything is potentially within the realm of, like, maybe this apple will fall up, I can’t actually say with certainty,” the You star – who played John’s brother Scott in the movie – replied. “I’ve got the smallest role in the movie. I don’t know that I would belong in it anyway.”
“I’m not doing it if you’re not doing it,” Snow replied.
Arielle Kebbel also revealed that members of the John Tucker Must Die cast still keep in touch.
