If you didn’t know, President Donald Trump has reportedly spent 18 out of his first 69 days back in office on one of his golf courses.

That means he’s apparently been working on his swing for *one-fourth* of his second term.

According to an analysis by HuffPost — which based its findings on a 2019 Government Accountability Office report — the cost of these outings has cost US taxpayers about $26,127,531.

News of this inspired Reddit user LevelDinner to ask the r/AskReddit community: ā€œHow do you feel about the fact that Trump has been in office for less than three months and has already taken 14 days off and spent $26 million of taxpayer money on golf?ā€

Let’s chat about all things Politics

Others labeled millions in taxpayer money being used on golfing as wasteful.

ā€œDOGE should look into that,ā€ user thedingerzout quipped.

Meanwhile, some didn’t like the fact that these trips were taking place at Trump-owned facilities.

ā€œNot enough of these comments mention that a significant chunk of that money goes straight into his pockets because he literally owns the resort that’s charging the government for using those facilities. That’s the part that bothers me,ā€ IM_OSCAR_dot_com said.

However, some people couldn’t be bothered to care about the president’s golf bill when more pressing issues are ahead, like his ā€œthird termā€ talk…

ā€œHis golf habits are the least of my worries. He’s seriously talking about a third term. It’s time conservatives stop pretending they give a shit about the Constitution. They demonstrably don’t,ā€ user Get_your_grape_juice said.

…Or the fact that major US allies like Canada say the relationship is ā€œover.ā€

ā€œI’m far less concerned about him golfing than I am with him kicking off wars all across the globe with our former allies. Quite frankly, him wasting time golfing is time he isn’t signing more fascist executive orders,ā€ said RoyalZeal.

On that note, this crowd seems to prefer he remain on the golf course.

ā€œI wish he’d play golf every day. He does less damage to my retirement fund there,ā€ said user UmpireMental7070.

As for those who neither prefer he stays golfing or worry over Trump’s future actions, their take can largely be summed up by user TrumpBottoms4Putin:

ā€œNothing Trump does will shock me unless it’s something positive with no ulterior motive.ā€
