After Rumors That Anna Kendrick Doesn’t Want To Work With Blake Lively Again, Director Paul Feig Responded

Another day, another round of chatter around the upcoming Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick movie Another Simple Favor, which premiered at SXSW on Friday night and hits Amazon Prime Video on May 1.

In case you missed it, Blake walked the red carpet for the film and gave her first public remarks since the beginning of her legal battle with It Ends with Us costar and director Justin Baldoni. “I love this character so much. It’s probably my favorite character I’ve ever been fortunate enough to play,” she said during the film’s screening. “So when Paul asked us to come back, I was so excited.”

Blake’s remarks followed what has been pretty relentless speculation online regarding whether her legal issues have had an impact on Another Simple Favor. The film’s director Paul Feig has had to dispel such rumors twice so far this year. In January he denied that the film was shelved “indefinitely,” and last month he had to hop into his own IG comments to defend her from online trolls.

Well, since the constant negativity toward Blake Lively online seems to never end, Paul has now found himself defending her for a third time in as many months.

So, on Friday a Twitter account attributed to “Youtuber” Melanie King (you never know how real these accounts are these days!) tweeted a picture of the Another Simple Favor cast along with a rumor that Anna and Blake weren’t getting along.

“Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick before they walk the red varpet at the sxsw Another Simple Favor premiere,” the tweet read. “I just reported on Blake being terrified to walk the carpet as Anna is pissed and never wants to work with her again.”

Ah, to walk the red…varpet.
