Alice in Chains has called off their forthcoming tour following the medical emergency of their drummer, Sean Kinney.

Taking to the official Instagram account, the Man in the Box and No Excuses singers released a statement, proclaiming that they would not proceed with their scheduled headlining shows and festival appearances due to Kinney’s health condition.

“After careful consideration and following the advice of medical professionals, we have made the decision to cancel our remaining upcoming festival performances and the Alice in Chains headline shows,” the statement read.

“While we were all eager to return to the stage, Sean’s health is our top priority at this moment,” the band clarified.

Notably, the statement did not highlight what medical condition Kinney is suffering from but it mentioned that “the issue requires immediate attention” and that “his long-term prognosis is positive.”

“We sincerely appreciate your understanding and support during this time,” the statement of Alice in Chains concluded.

Notably, the announcement of the band’s tour cancellation was made online a day after Alice in Chains stopped their show in Montville, Connecticut.

“After our soundcheck this evening at the Mohegan Sun Arena, Sean experienced a non-life-threatening medical emergency. We unfortunately have to cancel tonight’s show. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience,” the statement read.
