Amy Robach, TJ Holmes comment on Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen’s divorce
Amy Robach and TJ Holmes are sharing their two cents on Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce saga.
The TV anchors—who went public with their relationship in October 2023 a year after sparking affair rumours—reflected on their divorces from their respective partners in a recent episode of Amy & T.J. podcast.
The pair revealed that they hoped to announce their divorces from their former spouses once everything was finalised—much like Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s divorce as they “did it well.”
“That was the model I was trying to follow,” Robach, 51, explained. “I was thinking to myself, ‘Before I announce it to everyone, including some of my friends, I want to have the divorce actually already be filed in the court so that the messiness is over. I’m gonna deal with [it] personally, and then by the time I announce it, things are cool and calm, and we’re all good.’ And that was my goal.”
“That was our goal,” Holmes, 47, added.
Robach said she wanted to avoid external noise in the process as when you “when you announce to people that you’re breaking up, people usually wanna weigh in.”
“Once you already say, ‘Hey, guys, it’s a done deal,’ there’s no room for discussion,” she continued. “And I think by the time you get to that point, you’ve already made your mind up, and you don’t really want to hear what everyone else thinks about it. And so that makes a lot of sense to me.”
Brady, 47, and Bündchen, 44, finalised their divorce in October 2022 and refrained from commenting on the status of their relationship until terms were already agreed on legally.
Meanwhile, Holmes filed for divorce from Fiebig on December 28, 2022, after nearly 13 years of marriage and Robach and Shue finalised theirs in March 2023 after having been separated since last summer.
However, the pair had sparked affair rumours much earlier before they went Instagram official in late 2023 as they were spotted getting cosy on multiple occasions.
However, the former GMA3 hosts later addressed the affair rumours in the debut episode of their Amy & T.J. podcast in December 2023.
“To be clear, we were outed as being in a relationship,” Holmes stated, “but everyone else thought we were being outed as adulterous, being outed as cheating on our spouses and it wasn’t the case. Because the odd thing is that the day those pictures were taken and the day that article was released, we had both, at that point, been in divorce proceedings.”
On the same day, their former spouses launched their own podcast and reportedly dating.
