Angelina Jolie opens up about how she became ‘huge fan of opera’
Angelina Jolie got candid about her love for the art of opera.
Recently, the A-listed actress sat down for a candid chat with Empire.
During this interview, the former wife of Brad Pitt weighed in on her love for opera songs and why she prefers them over other music genres.
The mother of six began, “I am now a huge fan of opera,” adding, “I listen to it more than most other kinds of music.”
Recalling her preliminary efforts to learn the art, Angelina Jolie recalled, “I started singing classes and Italian classes, but when I switched to opera classes it was a whole other universe, and it required something very different.”
She added that during the “first few classes” she “nearly passed out every time,” and “couldn’t quite get my breathwork.”
“I think that’s why it takes a lifetime of training to really do it. Something really cool about the film is that if you don’t know opera, you can go through the entire journey of the film and understand it,” she continued of Maria Callas’ biopic by the name of Maria.
“If you do know opera, you understand why certain pieces of music and certain arias come at certain times. It adds many extra layers,” the 49-year-old actress remarked before conclusion.
