Ariana Grande’s fans question beau Ethan Slater’s presence in ‘Wicked’ BTS

Ariana Grande offered fans an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Wicked movie set, but one key figure was absent from her latest social media post, her boyfriend and co-star, Ethan Slater.

The omission of Slater in Grande’s carousel of snaps and clips came days after his ex-wife, Lily Jay, broke her silence in a candid essay about their high-profile breakup.

According to Daily Mail, the relationship between Grande and Slater first made headlines in the mid-2023, following Grande’s split from Dalton Gomez and Slater’s divorce filing from Jay, with whom he shares a child.

In her essay, Jay revealed that she had relocated to London with their two-month old baby to support Slater while he filmed Wicked.

However, she claimed that their marriage unraveled when Slater began dating Grande after meeting her on set.

As per the publication, Grande and Slater felt “relieved” that Jay refrained from directly criticizing, Grande notably kept Slater out of her upbeat social media post, which featured her co-stars Cynthia Erivo and Bowen Yang, but no trace of Slater.

In regards to this, Grande captioned her post as, “One month of @wickedmovie, thank you for your overwhelming love and embrace! I love you, we love you.”

Moreover, Jay’s essay delved into the challenges she faced during and after their split, including the sudden public scrutiny and the complexities of parenthood post-divorce.

Meanwhile, she expressed heartbreak over the end of her marriage by writing, “I really never thought I would get divorced—especially not just after giving birth to my first child and especially not in the shadow of my husband’s new relationship with a celebrity.”

Additionally, fans and critics alike have taken to social media to call out Slater for his actions, with many describing his treatment of Jay as “deeply disappointing.”
