Ariel Winter shares her sentiments on leaving ‘Modern Family’


Ariel Winter, best known for the portrayal of Alex Dunphy on Modern Family, opened up about her feelings about leaving the show after spending nearly a decade on it.
The actress recently sat down for a chat with PEOPLE Magazine during which she asserted that it was tough for her to let go of the show when it ended.
“It was hard,” she began.
Ariel went on to say, “We were like a real family. It was weird knowing it would just be over, and I wouldn’t get to see everybody all the time anymore.”
“It was like, wait, yeah, wait, we’re not going to be together on Monday?” she recalled.
“So on the one hand, I didn’t want it to end, but at the same time, I was ready to start something new as an adult,” Ariel continued and recalled, “I was 11 when it started. I don’t think I had any idea of it was going to be successful or not. I was just like, ‘Oh awesome, I got a job.’”
For those unversed, the final episode of the show aired on April 8, 2020.
