Brian Austin Green reflected on how Megan Fox’s taking the role of a step-parent for his son at a young age affected their marriage.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, who started dating Megan at the age of 30 while she was 18, talked about his divorce in a recent episode of his podcast, Oldish.

Recalling the ups and downs of their marriage, Brian suggested that becoming a stepmom at such a young age was a lot for Megan.

“When we were first together, I already had Kass, he said referring to his son Kassius whom he welcomed with ex Vanessa Marcil. “So she became very responsible for his well-being and was involved in all of the legal stuff that was going on with Vanessa and I, and it’s a lot at a young age.”

Brian went on to say, “It was amazing, but it was so much responsibility, I think she kind of just got to a point in her life where she was like, ‘I missed out on being a kid, like, being an irresponsible kid. I jumped in at just over 18 years old with a guy that had a 2-year-old.”

The 52-year-old actor noted that he did understand her situation but her quick decision to move on was “hard” for him.

“I think it became overwhelming for her. When she realized that, she wanted out quickly, which is then what made it hard for me. I understood it, but it doesn’t make it any less hard.”

Later on, Megan moved on with her “twin flame” Machine Gun Kelly, who recently welcomed their first child together after splitting in late 2024.

For those unversed Brian and Megan tied the knot in 2010 and filed for divorce in 2021. They also welcomed three kids, Noah, 12, Bodhi, 11, and Journey, 8.
