Chappell Roan is looking forward to a controversial acceptance speech if she wins any awards at the 2025 Grammys.

The singer, 26, joined Zane Lowe in the front seat during A Carpool Karaoke Christmas to belt out Pink Pony Club and drive around rural Missouri.

During the Apple TV+ and Apple Music hour-long holiday special that premiered on Monday, Roan spoke about her recognition from the Recording Academy, likening the Grammys to a “talent show for the popular kids.”

The Hot To Go singer then gushed about the six Grammy nominations she bagged this year, including record of the year for Good Luck, Babe!, album of the year for The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess and the best new artist.

“It’s an honour to be nominated with some of the other artists.”

When Lowe asked if she had a speech written, she responded, “I don’t have a speech yet, but you know me. I’m going to say something controversial. Why not?”

She celebrated her six nods with an Instagram post featuring a golden “six” balloon and Polaroid pictures on November 22.

Roan’s parents, Kara and Dwight Amstutz, also joined her on her Carpool Karaoke segment, where Kara said she was emotional when she first heard the Pink Pony Club and found herself tearing up during the car ride.
