Cher, the iconic singer and performer, has officially confirmed her retirement after a career spanning over six decades.

During an event at the Lyceum Theatre in London on Tuesday, the 76-year-old revealed that her upcoming album will be her last.

The announcement came as Cher discussed her career while promoting her memoir.

While speaking to the audience, the Strong Enough singer shared her excitement about the new project by saying, “This is probably my last album that I’m gonna do. I’m really excited. They are great songs, and I’m just really excited that I’m doing it.”

According to Daily Mail, the pop icon reflected on her struggles with aging while she admitted that she preferred the company of younger people and isn’t ready to embrace a quieter lifestyle.

In regards to this, she stated, “I like young people because a lot of my friends don’t want to have that much fun. They can just go off and be old fogies.”

Moreover, Cher’s announcement came amidst reported concerns from her family over her relationship with Alexander “AE” Edwards.

The 78-year-old singer’s loved ones have reportedly been struggling to address what they see as troubling aspects of her two-year romance with the 38-year-old singer’s music executive.

As per the outlet, her friends’ repeated warnings about Edwards’ alleged “red flags” have gone unheeded.

Additionally, a source close to Cher’s son Chaz Bono expressed worry that the legendary artist might be ignoring Edwards’ “true intentions.”

Despite their reservations, Cher continues to focus on her career while embracing life and music.

It is worth mentioning that Cher and Edwards were last photographed together in October 2024, attending public events including Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
