Dev Patel ‘very touched’ by his lookalike competition reaction

Dev Patel has a shocking reaction to his lookalike contest.

Speaking with Variety, Patel says he is surprised “more than five people showed up” adding, “I was quite overwhelmed by it and very touched.”

Patel went on to say, “I also gotta say that I think most of the men who showed up were far more handsome and qualified than I am. I think I would have lost at my own lookalike contest, for sure.”

The Wedding Guest star admitted that he was “shocked at the sheer amount of people that showed up” and the contest was “really amazing.”

Additionally, Patel also says that it was “refreshing to see a community come together like that and, hey, if there is ever a moment where I can be associated with some form of laughter and joy, it’s great. It is all good.”

The winner of the Dev Patel lookalike competition was 25-year-old Jaipreet Hundal from San Jose. He said, “If the real Dev Patel shows up, I don’t know who would win, me or him,” following his win, as quoted by PEOPLE magazine.

It is worth mentioning that previously Timothee Chalamet’s lookalike competition went viral, which was hosted by Sitara Bellan and Tasnim Khandakar.
