Grammy Nominations Have Dropped, And There Are Some *Massive* Snubs This Year

But first, the basics: Beyoncé leads nominations with 11 for her album, “COWBOY CARTER,” including “Album of the Year” — which she has never won, despite being the most-awarded Grammy’s artist in history.

Tied for second place with seven nominations each are Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and Post Malone. And in third place with six nominations each are Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter, and Chappell Roan for their respective albums.

You might notice one A-list singer wasn’t on that list, whose 2024 album eternal sunshine smashed the charts. Yep, we’re talking about Ariana Grande.

Ariana is likely the biggest snub for this year’s Grammy’s. She received three nominations this year, but none in the major categories — so no “Album of the Year,” “Song of the Year,” or “Record of the Year.” That includes zero nominations for “we can’t be friends (wait for your love),” despite the song going to number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

Also among those snubbed is THE Taylor Swift. She did receive six nominations, including one for “Album of the Year.” But The Eras Tour film wasn’t nominated for “Best Music Film,” despite being the highest-grossing concert film of ALL TIME. So that definitely doesn’t make much sense to fans.

Aside from those two, other people snubbed are: Dua Lipa, who received zero nominations, Troye Sivan, who also didn’t make the list, and Jack Antonoff, who won’t defend his title of “Producer of the Year.”

Plus, Hozier’s “Too Sweet” — which I’m certain you’ve heard — and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Hiss” weren’t nominated either, despite their respective success.

But from the looks of it, Arianators appear to be the most frustrated, because there appears to be a pattern here. Ariana has two Grammy wins, but none in the main categories — she’s only been nominated for “Album of the Year” once, for thank u, next in 2020, which Billie Eilish won (and subsequently said she thought Ariana deserved to win).

So it makes sense that fans would be frustrated for Ariana — along with these other artists — not getting the recognition they deserve. Let’s take a look at fans’ reactions to these snubs:

i need to know what the grammys has against hozier because him not getting a single nomination for ‘too sweet’ is just insane to me? like they snub him every single year without fail.

why am i even surprised anymore. we can’t be friends & eternal sunshine are objectively exceptional in every single area. the grammys continue to show they don’t value real quality & genuine art. ariana deserves better.

I love you Charli but how you gonna nominate Apple and 360 over we can’t be friends? Not even a best music video nom? Oh I’m PISSED
