Nearly a week since the blaze first broke out, the New York Times has reported that the Palisades Fire has burned over 23,700 acres and is only 13% contained. Meanwhile, the Eaton Fire — which is the second largest, covering more than 14,000 acres — is 27% contained.

The death toll has risen to 24, and more than 100,000 people are still under mandatory evacuation orders.
Amid the widespread destruction, thousands of homes have burned down, including those belonging to well-known celebrities. One of the latest public figures to speak out is Joshua, whose Topanga Canyon home, which he purchased in 2001, was among those destroyed over the weekend.

In a statement shared via his representative, the Dawson’s Creek star said he feels “incredibly lucky” despite the enormous loss.
“First and most importantly, all the people closest to me affected by the fire are OK,” he began, confirming that he, his neighbors, and his 4-year-old daughter, Juno — whom he shares with his ex, Jodie Turner-Smith — are unharmed.

“My daughter, my family, my neighbors all made it out safely,” he said. “Sadly my beautiful home did not survive the fires. But today, I feel incredibly lucky to be surrounded by the people I love.”
