“Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.”

Amid the devastating wildfires currently burning through Los Angeles, Miley Cyrus has shown support for those impacted by the tragedy.

Now, more than six years later, Miley is using that devastating experience to help show support and empathy to those who find themselves in the same horrible situation.

As the Los Angeles fires continue to burn, the 32-year-old took to The Miley Cyrus Foundation Instagram page on Sunday to share a message of support alongside a photograph showing the remains of her Malibu home in 2018.

Recalling the trauma, she wrote: “It’s a feeling you don’t ever forget. Walking up to the door you would pass through daily, looking forward to being greeted by the ones you love like you always do but instead being met by a pile of ash and rubble.”

“My soul aches for those who are experiencing this devastation firsthand and I cry for my city. It’s beyond heartbreaking,” Miley’s message continued. “Los Angeles represents ‘living the dream’ but the reality today is wreckage and destruction.”

She closed out the caption by sharing links to organizations that she’s personally donating to that are “helping fight the fires and support survivors” — including the Malibu Foundation, which she helped launch after the loss of her home in 2018.
