Recently, u/StarryMind322 asked r/AskReddit, “What movie or TV episode gives you the worst second-hand embarrassment?” And we thought we’d share some of the best responses:
.“My wife is a great barometer for this, as she gets real anxiety from uncomfortable situations in shows. Curb Your Enthusiasm had to go off during the second episode.”
.“‘Quinceanera’ episode of Superstore. It’s very difficult to watch without squirming and wanting it to stop.”
.“The Office when Phyllis gets married. I just cringe thinking about it. Micheal is so inappropriate so many times.”
.“The UK Office episode where David Brent dances in front of the entire office.”
.“TheInbetweeners… Nothing else has come close, every episode made me feel uncomfortable, great show though.”
.“Meet the Parents – my daughter was actually gagging at some parts from severe secondhand embarrassment for Greg.”
.“The ‘choose me, love me’ episode of Grey’s Anatomy.”
.“Breaking Bad, the episode where Skyler sings happy birthday to Ted.”
.“That episode in Friends where Rachel keeps embarrassing herself for some random guy.”
.“Peep Show – ‘Holiday.’ The last scene, with the ‘turkey’ leg .If you haven’t seen it, watch it. It makes ‘Scot’s Tots’ look like Bluey.”
.“The Curse. Basically every episode makes me die of cringe besides the last one which becomes a horror/thriller for some reason lol.”
.“The Pierce dinner scene in Succession. Super uncomfortable to watch.”
.“Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, the entire show, and it’s purposeful.”
.“Elf. I normally love Will Ferrell, but it’s just not my cup of tea.”
.“I Love You, Man. The handsome Paul Rudd does an amazing job at being a shy, awkward dork and some of the shit he says and the faces he makes when he realises what he said make my stomach hurt from cringe.”
.“A Real Pain. Good movie but Kieran Culkin and Jesse Eisenberg have a lot of extremely uncomfortable cringe moments throughout the movie.”
