Jennifer Lopez gets honest about new ‘Unstoppable’ role
In Unstoppable, Jennifer Lopez plays the American wrestler Anthony Robles’s mother, Judy Robles.
Based on a true story, the Atlas actress said she prepared for the role by directly talking to the mom about her experience of raising a child who was born without a red leg.
“My main goal in the first meeting was to make her really comfortable,” the On the Floor hitmaker said on the movie premiere as she added she wanted Robles to “know that she could trust me – that she could share things with me.”
In her conversation with the wrestling champion’s mom, Jennifer said she asked a variety of questions about their lives and used those answers in her performance, UPI reported.
“I was only going to use things that, one, she felt comfortable with, but also that I thought would contribute to telling her part of the story,” the mother-of-two concluded.
In a separate interview, J.Lo called Unstoppable a “perfect family movie”. She told OK! Magazine, “These are the types of movies that the world needs right now more than ever.”
“It is inspiring, uplifting, exciting and emotional. At times, difficult to watch but so real and so moving,” she continued.
“It’s a perfect family movie. It will have you cheering while you hold back the tears,” J.Lo concluded.
Unstoppable has a selected release on Dec 6 and will be available on Amazon Prime in Jan.
