This article mentions allegations of rape, sexual assault, and sexual violence.

Jay-Z responded to the allegations via his Roc Nation X account on Monday, where he branded the plaintiff’s claims a “blackmail attempt.”

“My lawyer received a blackmail attempt, called a demand letter, from a ‘lawyer’ named Tony Buzbee. What he had calculated was the nature of these allegations and the public scrutiny would make me want to settle,” Jay-Z wrote.

“No sir, it had the opposite effect! It made me want to expose you for the fraud you are in a VERY public fashion. So no, I will not give you ONE RED PENNY!!” he went on. “These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!! Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”

“I have no idea how you have come to be such a deplorable human Mr. Buzbee, but I promise you I have seen your kind many times over. I’m more than prepared to deal with your type,” Jay-Z added. “You claim to be a marine?! Marines are known for their valor, you have neither honor nor dignity.”

Jay-Z went on to reference his wife, Beyoncé, and their three children — 12-year-old Blue Ivy, and 7-year-old twins Sir and Rumi — as he wrote: “My only heartbreak is for my family.”

And just hours after issuing the statement, Jay-Z stepped out with Beyoncé as they accompanied Blue Ivy to the premiere of her new movie, Mufasa: The Lion King, on Monday night.

Blue voices Kiara in the Disney film, and the family smiled for waiting photographers as they posed together on the red carpet, with Beyoncé’s mom, Tina Knowles, also joining them at the event.

And Beyoncé reiterated that it was Blue’s night as she paid tribute to her daughter in a heartfelt Instagram post after the event. Sharing two photos of Blue posing solo on the red carpet, the proud mom wrote: “My gorgeous baby girl. This is your night.”
