Katie Holmes shared a lighthearted moment about forgetting her lines during her current role in Our Town.

The 45-year-old star, who debuted on Broadway in 2008 with Arthur Miller’s All My Sons, revealed her experience during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.

While recalling the incident, Holmes admitted, “I said the whole line except the last word and just couldn’t remember it. I made something up, but it didn’t make sense.”

According to Daily Mail, feeling flustered, she sped through the rest of her lines and exited the stage quickly.

Meanwhile, co-star Jim Parsons, who plays the stage manager, supported her afterward with a hug, jokingly, “I’ve never seen anyone say their lines so fast and remove themselves!”

Moreover, Holmes, who portrays Mrs. Webb in the Pulitzer Prize-winning classic by Thornton Wilder, described her role as a “dream job” in the 28-member ensemble cast.

In regards to this, she noted that the production is “a bit of reimagining,” staying true to the original script but adapted to resonate with modern audiences.

As per the publication, ahead of each performance, Holmes follows a pre-show ritual, stopping at a Starbucks near the Barrymore Theater.

Additionally, she stated, “They know me, and they wish me a great show,” while she also runs through her lines multiple times at home and backstage before stepping on stage.

It is worth mentioning that Our Town, hailed as one of the greatest American plays, runs at the Barrymore Theater until January 19.
