Singer-songwriter Khalid took to X (formerly Twitter) Friday evening to clear the air on personal matters that, frankly, weren’t anyone’s business to begin with.

In a series of tweets, Khalid addressed the growing speculation around his sexuality. His first post included a pride flag emoji, and read: “there yall go. next topic please lol.”

Someone responded: “wait hope Mr Khalid isn’t GEHHH!” The Grammy nominee replied: “I am! And that’s ok.” (The other person followed up by saying they were “still a big fan,” adding a pride flag emoji.)

Khalid said in another tweet that he had been outed.

“I got outted and the world still continues to turn,” he wrote. “Let’s get this straight (lmao) I am not ashamed of my sexuality! In reality it ain’t nobodies business! But I am okay with me love yall.”

He noted elsewhere that he “wasn’t hiding anything” before, but his sexuality was “just not any of your business.”

According to Vulture, Khalid’s declarations were a response to now-deleted tweets from fellow singer Hugo D Almonte, who implied he’d been in a relationship with Khalid at some point. Almonte reportedly claimed on X that he’d split up with a “dumb ass singer,” and that the singer had wrongly accused Almonte of breaking into their home.

This drama escalated when, in another now-deleted tweet, Almonte shared a photo of himself with Khalid, captioned: “Bitch ass 🥷🏾 lied and said that I broke into his house cause I didn’t want him.”

Khalid has not responded to those allegations, and representatives for Khalid did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment. Meanwhile, musician MNEK directly addressed Almonte on X, accusing him of engaging in “loser behaviour.”

Almonte told Vulture he “never” meant to “out someone who’s clearly been out already in the community in Los Angeles.” He said his “intentions” were to “share my story and share how [Khalid] tried to use his power to silence me because I simply ended our relationship, he was afraid of what I might say.”

Khalid, for his part, appears ready to move on. In a final tweet Friday evening, he signed off with a message of love suggesting he’s said all he has to say.

aight love yall thank yall I’m off this 🤞🏾
