King Charles set to spend lonely Christmas without Queen Camilla
King Charles will have a lonely Christmas this year as his beloved wife, Queen Camilla, plans to spend part of the holiday with her own family.
As per Entertainment Daily, the Queen Consort will only join the King and other members of the Royal family at Sandringham for Christmas Day celebrations, and will leave afterwards to visit her side of the family in Wiltshire.
To add to it, Prince William and Kate Middleton will also return to Amner Hall to mark the rest of the day with their kids, leaving Charles to spend the afternoon alone with friends, revealed former royal butler Paul Burrell.
“This division of Christmas is becoming more and more obvious,” Paul said. “Although Camilla will be at Sandringham, although she may well appear on the front steps of the church and walk back to the house and have Christmas lunch, as soon as lunch is over, Camilla is off.”
He added, “She goes back to Wiltshire to see her family who are not invited to Sandringham, she wants to see her grandchildren, children and their spouses.”
“It’s a split Christmas for Camilla, just like it is for many others,” he added.
Sharing how the King will spend the rest of the day, Burrell said, “The King will be alone with a few friends on Christmas Day afternoon.”
“William and Kate will go back to Amner Hall and go back to their family unit and have Christmas underneath their roof, not under the roof of Sandringham.
“They’re becoming a thoroughly modern royal family and doing things more like we do them.”
