Martin Scorsese reveals finest actor of this generation

Given his experience in filmmaking, Martin Scorsese is perhaps the right person to give an opinion on who is the finest actor of this generation.

The noted director shared his comments during an earlier press conference, a clip of which is going viral, The Mirror reported.

Sharing it is Adam Driver’s performance in 2016’s Silence, which he directed, that led him to say, “The experience I had with him [Driver]… yes remarkable screen presence, but truly… got to say it, one of the finest, if not the finest of his generation.”

The Star Wars star shed fifty pounds for the role and went to a seven-day retreat to prepare.

Apart from the actor, Martin recently also raved about a contemporary from his field: Robert Eggers.

Gushing about his work in Nosferatu, he said, “Amazing,” adding, “Anything this guy does is amazing.”

“And that’s one [film] you don’t do much after seeing. You’re still in the world. You’re in Transylvania, and it’s really, [laughs] whoa. Man, he’s something,” the director noted.

Robert’s upcoming film Werwulf, which he helmed, has a logline that reads, “Set in 13th century, the film is about a man cursed to turn into a werewolf each night, forcing him to grapple with his monstrous transformation and the consequences it brings upon his village.”
