Marvel eyes ‘Thunderbolts*’ director for big role

Marvel is set to make the first X-Men film since Disney acquired Fox in 2019, and they eyed the Thunderbolts* director, Jake Schreier, for this.
Though the insiders told Variety that the deal is in an early stage, the franchise seriously considered the post after he delivered a hit with the film about anti-heroes.
Michael Lesslie will pen the new X-Men film, who has previously done work in Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, while Kevin Feige will produce it.
Details about the film have been limited, and there is no word on when it will be released.
Besides this, Disney head Bob Iger admitted that focusing on quantity over quality had impacted the franchise.
“We’ve learned over time that quantity does not necessarily beget quality,” he said during the investor’s call.
“Frankly, we’ve all admitted to ourselves that we lost a little focus by making too much. By consolidating a bit and having Marvel focus much more on their films, we believe it will result in better quality. I think the first and best example of that is ‘Thunderbolts*’”, Bob noted.
