Miley Cyrus drops major emotional ballad, leaving fans concerned

Miley Cyrus has released More to Lose, the fourth single from her upcoming album Something Beautiful, accompanied by a minimalist black-and-white music video. 

In the video, released Friday, the Grammy-winning singer appears tearful as she delivers poignant lyrics about a fading relationship, “I just thought we had more to lose.” 

Moreover, the video transitions from Cyrus in a strapless sparkly gown to a striking all-black ensemble with a Batman-style headpiece.

According to Daily Mail, fans speculate the melancholic ballad is about her ex-husband Liam Hemsworth, though Cyrus hasn’t confirmed the inspiration. 

Additionally, she explained in a teaser clip that she wanted the song to feel “meaningful and emotional,” rather than polished, as per the outlet. 

Furthermore, the track follows her previous singles Prelude, Something Beautiful, and End of the World, and was co-written and produced by Autumn Rowe, Michael Pollack, Jonathan Rado, Shawn Everett, and BJ Burton.

Something Beautiful, Cyrus’ ninth studio album, is set for release on May 30.
