Millie Bobby Brown Has Reflected On The Time A Pap Took Invasive Photos Of Her At Just 13 Years Old After Previously Opening Up About The “Gross” Way She Was Sexualized As A Child Star

This response was, sadly, nothing new, and served as a stark reminder of how girls growing up in the industry have been treated for decades, with Mara Wilson, Natalie Portman, Emma Watson, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen just some of the former child stars to have endured a similar experience to Millie.
And when Millie was asked about what had happened during a subsequent podcast appearance, Millie acknowledged that she had been “dealing with” being sexualized “forever” as she reiterated the terrifying reality of being a female child star.
Speaking on the Guilty Feminist podcast just weeks after her birthday, Millie said that she had noticed she’d been sexualized even more since turning 18, and had seen “a difference” in the way that she was being treated on social media and in the press now that she is a legal adult.
“I believe that shouldn’t change anything, but it’s gross and it’s true,” she went on. “It’s a very good representation of what’s going on in the world and how young girls are sexualized. I have been dealing with that — but I have also been dealing with that forever.”
