New twist in Jay-Z case after bombshell allegation
Jay-Z was accused of raping a minor. But his lawyers are making a new claim against the opposite party in a case that has drawn much media attention.
They alleged Tony Buzbee — the attorney who is leading the sexual assault case against Sean “Diddy” Combs — has “encouraged” a woman to lie to make a case against Bad Boy Records founder.
Page Six obtained the court documents, which say the unnamed woman approached the Grammy winner’s legal team to share her account.
She alleged the Texas-based lawyer tried to tie her allegations against an unrelated celebrity sex abuse case to the music mogul after she contacted his firm in October.
The woman was “pressed for a connection to Mr Combs,” the filing claimed, as it also alleged she felt “directed and coached by Mr Buzbee’s firm” to include “false” claims, including that she had been drugged and physically assaulted: “She felt forced to lie.”
“When the woman declined to adopt the version of events proposed by members of the Buzbee firm, she was summarily dropped as a client,” Alex Spiro, the Empire of State’s rapper lawyer, concluded.
The new filing comes in the wake of Tony adding Jay-Z’s name in an earlier lawsuit — which he has now updated — against Diddy and an unnamed celebrity, which he described as John Doe, for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old.
