Last year, Chappell repeatedly went viral for reacting to the downright rude way photographers treated her on red carpets.

In recent months, Chappell Roan has earned a bit of a reputation for her no-nonsense approach to exerting her boundaries.

Chappell’s confrontational red-carpet behavior has undeniably divided people, with some critics arguing that her responses have not been reasonable.

But some people think that Chappell’s refusal to bend to the expectations of how a pop star should react to disrespect is paying off, with many theorizing that she was treated much more politely by photographers at last night’s Grammy Awards as a direct result of her recent actions.

In a video, which you can watch here, the overall vibe on the carpet is remarkably calm, and the photographers can be heard repeatedly saying “please” and Chappell’s name as she hits her marks.

And this respectful approach struck a chord with social media users, with one person quote-tweeting the video and observing: “the paparazzi calling her ‘sweetheart’ and saying ‘please’ and just genuinely being quieter and more respectful as they should she started a movement.”
