People Are Sharing Who They Think Should Run For President In 2028, And I Can’t Believe I Agree With So Many Of These
We’re looking ahead at the next election cycle.
President-elect Trump has already plotted out his first day in office: deportations, rolling back on Biden’s policies, pardoning Jan. 6’ers, among other items on his docket. These are some lofty ambitions for 24 hours, surely, yet he was voted in with the expectation that he would “Make America Great Again.”
Whether he manages to accomplish this laundry list of tasks or not remains to be seen, but it’s not surprising that people are dreading the next four years. That’s especially the case after he named his cabinet picks.

“I’d love to see an Elizabeth Warren or AOC, but I don’t think they’d get the votes because, y’know, sexism. If I were to nominate a ticket right now, I would say Jon Ossoff with either Ruben Gallego, Elizabeth Warren, or Raphael Warnock as the running mates. But honestly, as a hardcore Democrat, I’m more worried about the Republican nominee. I just hope we have two sane candidates in 2028.”

“First of all, America is too sexist to elect a woman right now. It’s terrible, but true. Second of all, many Democrats are highly funded by large corporate interests, so they have no interest in fixing problems like the health insurance system. This all points to Rep. Greg Casar of Texas as the best presidential candidate for 2028, as he is not a billionaire, doesn’t take corporate cash, and has a sensible, non-corporate-corrupted view on issues. Someone like Pritzker is kinda progressive, but in bed with corporations, and worth $3 billion himself.”

“She is incredibly smart, and compassionate, speaks for average Americans, and challenges the oligarchs and big businesses. She is also not 80+.”

“She has the most followers on Bluesky and [wrote on Instagram], “Let’s do this right now. If you voted for Donald Trump and me, or if you voted for Donald Trump and voted Democratic down-ballot, I would really love to hear from you.” She respects Trump voters, unlike Harris.”

“Vivek had a ton of support before he dropped out and has continued to gain support, and conservatives love Vance. On the Democratic side, I think their best bet would be Tim Walz, since liberals are already familiar with him, or another prominent Democrat like Gavin Newsom.”

“He has a caring genuine demeanor and is skilled at talking across the aisle while staying firm in his beliefs. [He is] pro-union, works to support teachers that are far behind in education, supports bodily autonomy and queer rights in a deeply red state where that is NOT EASY. While I skew towards Democratic socialism personally, even I admit, a moderate like Andy might be what the country needs to start healing.”

“I find her quasi-zany-personality to be endearing, but I feel like, despite her personality, she’s witty, courageous, honest, transparent, and competent. I liked her 2020 run. I felt like she prioritized the issues over party loyalties; I feel like she works well with senators from any political party. I don’t know; I just feel like I could trust her to do a great job leading this country, and I already respect her as a senator. As president, I think she will remain transparent, proactive, and very active. But, that’s just me; that’s just my perspective.”

Seems interesting!”

“I want a real, left president who will incur needed change, by addressing the climate crisis, healthcare, and widespread inequality. I think the only way to dismantle the far-right is with a revolutionary like Bernie. There needs to be a middle ground between a celebrity with 0 experience and a dry career typical politician. For me, that’ll always be Bernie and I hope more of his caliber appear.”
