Prince Harry received support after he made a candid remark on bizarre divorce rumours with Meghan Markle at a latest event.
Harry, the Duke of Sussex, jokingly dismissed rumours of divorce when asked about his and the Duchess of Sussex’s recent solo appearances at the 2024 New York Times DealBook Summit.
“Apparently we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times,” Harry said. “We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, what?”
Defending the Prince, royal expert Hugo Vickers said he believed the Duke’s comments and claimed that his candid remarks revealed a deeper “inner turmoil” caused by years of speculation and scrutiny.
“[Harry] said that all the pundits must be very disappointed, and he felt sorry for them that none of these things actually happened,” Vickers told The Sun.
“What else can he say? He must be roundly fed up with all the kind of speculation that’s been going on over his whole life, ever since he was a little boy, so in that respect, I sympathise with him.”
Victors further stated that Harry and Meghan pursuing solo projects does not indicate they are getting a divorce or hint at marital woes.
“They’re always playing to their particular skills,” he added. “They’re also always having to reinvent themselves. They’re always having to try and keep focused in the public eye.”
