Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “putting a brave face” after their new Netflix series, titled Polo, failed to impress audiences who dubbed it as “cheesy and cringe.”
After the trailer of the series was dropped, several critics took to social media to bash the couple for making a show on “elite clueless people playing polo.”
Sharing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reaction on the backlash, the insider said that even though they are trying brush off the backlash, it is difficult not to take the harsh reaction personally.
The insider claimed that Meghan, in particular, is struggling to come to terms with the ridicule, as she sees herself as a “serious figure in the entertainment business.”
“Harry and Meghan are putting a brave face and saying it’s a good bit of fun and ultimately not something to get worked up about,” the source told Closer Magazine.
They added, “As far as they’re concerned it’s very unfair they’re catching heat, they take issue with people who roll their eyes and call them reality TV sellouts.”
“People haven’t even seen the whole series and they’re already tearing it down and they fully believe the harsh reaction is simply down to their association with it,” they explained.
