Sean “Diddy” Combs just expanded his legal team ahead of his scheduled trial.

The disgraced music mogul has included a new attorney, named Xavier R. Donaldson, before his sex trafficking trial starts.

Donaldson is an attorney based in New York, who has filed a notice of appearance stating that he would be a part of Combs’ defense team.

As per PEOPLE magazine, the legal representative has had his own practice since 2023 and has worked for 24 years at a firm in New York.

Additionally, he received his law degree from Howard University, coincidentally the same institute Combs studied business from before dropping out to pursue music.

Donaldson’s team would be lead by Marc Agnifilo and Teny Geragos and also consists of Brian Steel, who has represented Young Thug during his RICO trial in Georgia.

Neama Rahmani, a California trial lawyer who is not involved in the case, told PEOPLE magazine, “It’s not uncommon to add lawyers in a long and complex case like this, even on the eve of trial.”

“Combs has almost unlimited money and the trial will last for weeks, so the defense may need the additional firepower. Some of the lawyers may also be handling the appeal if Combs is convicted, and not the trial itself,” she further added.

For the unversed, Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is currently detained, is set to appear for trial on May 5, in Manhattan federal court due to charges of sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation to engage in prostitution.

If proven guilty, he could potentially serve the sentence of life-time imprisonment.
