Shakira has shared insights into her supportive friendship with the Coldplay member, Chris Martin.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, the Colombian singer candidly talked about the emotional support that she has received from her pal after her breakup with the Spanish footballer, Gerard Piqué.
“He was there for me when I got separated and was heartbroken,” the Waka Waka singer began by saying. “He was checking in every day to see how I was doing, sending me words of support and strength and wisdom.”
Also, she lauded, “I see him as a person who sees life through a different lens, who’s sensitive to other people’s needs and very empathetic, very empathetic.”
Previously, Shakira discussed personal challenges that she faced after her breakup and told the outlet, “The suffering I felt was probably the greatest I had ever experienced in my entire life, and it kept me from functioning at times.”
“It felt like someone had stabbed a hole in my chest. And the sensation was so real, almost physical. I physically felt like I had a hole in my chest and that people could see through me,” she added before signing off.
For those unversed, Shakira and Gerard Piqué were in a relationship for more than a decade and share two sons Milan and Sasha. Later, the couple announced their separation in 2022.
