Shawn Mendes eyeing on a different career after his ‘Wonder’ world?

Shawn Mendes got candid about quitting his music career.

In an interview with John Mayer on How’s Life, the 26-year-old singer, admitted that he “absolutely” thought about giving up his career for good.

During the interview, Mendes was asked what his alternative plan was, to which, he said, “I have no idea. For real, I seriously thought about.”

“I actually took a small therapy course and I was like, ‘I might just become a therapist in a small town,’” he said, adding, “It’d be weird at first for everyone, and then eventually they would just get used to it.”

The Senorita hitmaker, who cancelled his Wonder world tour in 2022 for mental health reasons, also talked about dating again.

“Yes. For sure. I think, yeah,” the There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back crooner said, “I guess as long as we’re living, we are healing.”

He also admitted that it “sucks” to hear songs about himself.

“It sucks to feel like … It’s a funny feeling to feel like you’re being written about,” the Stitches singer said, “And maybe the whole picture’s not being expressed.”
