Taylor Swift makes record breaking history at 2024 Billboard Music Awards
Taylor Swift made record breaking history at 2024 Billboard Music Awards by becoming the most-decorated BBMA winner with a total of 49 career trophies.
According to Mirror, the BBMAs, which took place Thursday night in Los Angeles, the Anti-Hero hitmaker won 10 awards including Top Artist, Top Female Artist and Top Album, making her the most-awarded artist in the show’s history.
Her other wins were for Top Billboard 200 Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Hot 100 songwriter, Top radio songs Artist, Top Billboard global 200 Artist, Top Billboard global (excluding the U.S.) Artist and Top Billboard 200 album for The Tortured Poets Department.
After Swift, country music singer Zach Bryan led this year’s nominations with 18 and ended up receiving a total of five awards.
The Please Please Please singer Sabrina Carpenter, on other hand, had nine nominations, however, she won nothing.
First-time nominees included Benson Boone, who won Top 100 Song, and Chappell Roan, who took home the award for Top New Artist.
Hosted by actor and comedian Michelle Buteau, many artists delivered powerful performances such as Shaboozey and Megan Moroney, rock band Linkin Park, regional Mexican group Fuerza Regida, country rap star Jelly Roll and K-pop boy band Stray Kids.
