Yes, Here’s What Katy Perry Sang In Space
“It’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth,” the singer claimed.
Well, Katy Perry has hurtled back to earth safely — with the news that she apparently started singing in space.

No, this is not The Onion — earlier today, Katy joined Gayle King and Lauren Sánchez on an all-female space flight. The whole thing is significantly less impressive once you realize A) They only spent around four minutes in space, B) The whole thing was orchestrated by Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin.

In a video prior to the mission, Katy told her followers, “I think I’m gonna sing, sing a little bit. I gotta sing in space!”
Shipmate Gayle told reporters, “When we got back in our seats after Zero-G, Katy sang ‘What A Wonderful World.'” You know, the Louis Armstrong song.

“We’d been asking her to sing all the time and she wouldn’t. Everybody said, ‘Sing “Roar,” sing “Firework,” and she said, “It’s not about me. I wanted to talk about the world,'” Gayle continued.

As for what Katy had to say, she explained of her song choice, “I’ve covered that song in the past and obviously my higher self is always steering the ship because I had no idea that one day I’d be singing that song in space.”

“It’s not about me. It’s not about singing my songs. It’s about a collective energy and making space for future women. It’s about this wonderful world that we see right out there and appreciating it. This is all for the benefit of Earth,” she continued.
